Apollo 11 'UFO' - Buzz Aldrin

Buzz Aldrin talks about the 'UFO' which the Apollo 11 crew saw on their way to the moon. He explains why they didn't describe it explicitly to Houston: “...those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and who knows what somebody would’ve demanded - we turn back because of aliens, or whatever the reason is.”

Dr David Baker, senior Apollo scientist: "The possibility that you might encounter aliens in space has to be considered in a very sensible and positive and realistic way; there were a lot of people within the program who went off later and became convinced that UFOs existed.”

Excerpted from “Apollo 11: The Untold Story”.

NASA: “I just talked to Buzz Aldrin...and he notes that the quotations were taken out of context and did not convey the intended meaning. After the...crew verified that it...was not the SIV-B upper stage...they concluded that they were probably seeing one of the panels from the separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage. These panels were not tracked from Earth and were likely much closer to the Apollo spacecraft....Apparently all of this discussion about the panels was cut from the broadcast interview, thus giving the impression that they had seen a UFO.” - David Morrison, NAI Senior Scientist, 7/26/06

AOL Search Data Shows Users Planning to commit Murder.

http://research.aol.com released a list of 20 million + searches by 500,000 AOL users. Contained in this list are social security numbers, credit cards and other personal information. There are some truly scary things in this database. User 17556639 is constantly trying to find ways of killing his wife.
=================================================

I really just can't believe this. WHO was the moron that thought this would be a good idea?
law enforcement perhaps, but then again, I don't want big brother looking over my shoulder at any given time. We live in a FREE country, which means we take the good with the bad.
Some people (like spammers) are fucktards that should be removed from the gene pool.
we deal with it because most of the people out there are good natured people. Good with the bad. THIS, on the other hand, is just ASKING for the Goverment to control our ever day lives.

They say there's no way to 'track' you.. BS. If they have these logging data you can be damn sure they have your IP address. If they have your IP address, then they have your User/Pass. if they have your User/pass they have your account information that includes your name, and address.

Search for 'How to kill my wife' and have the cops on your door step in 30 seconds falt.
sounds good in theory doesn't it? What if you wheren't the the one the searched for it?
what if if was your wife? brother? some jack-ass that broke into your house?.. worse yet, some black hat that searchs AOL for those 'nasty' things.. but it's all coming from YOUR computer?!
you've been framed. What if 'how to kill my wife' was really a movie or a book title? Perhaps a snuff film?

Point is, there's no way for anyone to really know the context of which the search was done. yes it would be possible to save lives, but there's too many ass holes out there that will use that information for their own personal gain, misinformation, and getting people into trouble because they just don't like you.

Think about that one for a moment.. All of a sudden the bully at High School has all your personal information; your likes, dislikes, favorite routes to walk to and from school, your classes, friends names, license plate, football games, band contests.

This fucking scares the jeebus out of me.

Deckchair trapped testicles

Ananova - Deckchair trapped testicles:
"Deckchair trapped testicles

A Croatian man got a nasty surprise when he tried to get out of his deck chair and found his testicles had got stuck.
Mario Visnjic had gone swimming naked in the sea at the Valalta beach in western Croatia, reports 24sata.
His testicles had shrunk while in the cool sea and slipped through the wooden slats when he sat back down on his wooden deckchair.
But as he lay in the sun they expanded back to normal size and got stuck between the slats.
He was eventually freed after he called beach maintenance services on his mobile phone and they sent a member of staff to cut the deck chair in half."

Star Wars: Blogs Lucas Online YouTube and fan-made Star Wars videos: "YouTube and fan-made Star Wars videos

Lucasfilm has been informed that YouTube recently removed from its site several fan-made Star Wars spoofs and parodies. We would like the fan film community to know that this was not done at our request.

Apparently the action was taken by YouTube as a result of a misunderstanding of a request to remove an item containing material taken from starwars.com without our permission. We have asked YouTube to restore any works that they inadvertently removed."

Like most puppies, mine is not finicky about what he puts in his mouth. He eats anything. But the day he swallowed a quarter, I panicked and called the vet.

"What should I do"? I pleaded over the phone.

My extremely laid-back vet answered calmly, "Swallowing a quarter is nothing to worry about. But if he does it again and a can of pop shoots out of his rear, give me a call."

Small Talk

This is freaking Funny...

Teacher Arrested At New York's Kennedy airport today

Teacher ArrestedAt New York's Kennedy airport today, an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher, was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a setsquare, a slide rule, and a calculator. At a morning press conference, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction. "Al-gebra is a fearsome cult, "Gonzales said. They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as unknowns, but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of th e axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle." When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes."

Self-Stirring Mug

This mug has a miniature battery-operated propeller at the bottom of the well that spins at 3,000 rpms at the touch of a button on the handle, automatically stirring your beverage and eliminating the need to dispose of stirrers or find a place to leave coffee-dampened spoons. At your command the propeller re-stirs mugs of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea, preventing chocolate or sugar from settling out of solution, and overcoming the traditional challenge of adequately mixing honey in a hot drink. The mug includes a lid to keep contents from spilling and to retain heat, and the lid can be placed underneath the mugs base as an impromptu coaster. The mug is lightweight injection-molded plastic sheathed in a stainless steel exterior. Posted by Picasa

Document Control by the Monks

Document Control by the Monks

A young monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to helping the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up. In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

The head monk, says, 'We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.'

So, he goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't been opened for hundreds of years.

Hours go by and nobody sees the old abott. So, the young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees him banging his head against the wall and wailing,

We missed the 'R' ...

We missed the 'R' ...

We missed the 'R' ...

His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.

The young monk asks the old abbot, 'What's wrong, father?'

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies, ' After all these years ... the word was ' celebrate '.' "

The Seven Dwarfs go to the Vatican

"The Seven Dwarfs go to the Vatican and, because they have requested an audience, and as they are THE Seven Dwarfs, they are ushered in to see the Pope

Dopey leads the pack. Dopey my son ,' says the Pope 'what can I do for you?'

Dopey asks, 'Excuse me, Your Excellency, but are there any dwarf nuns in Rome?'

The Pope wrinkles his brow at the odd question, thinks for a moment, and answers, 'No Dopey, there are no dwarf nuns in Rome .'

In the background a few of the dwarfs start giggling. Dopey turns around and gives them a glare, silencing them.

Dopey turns back, 'Your Worship, are there any dwarf nuns in all of Europe?'

The Pope puzzled now, again thinks for a moment and then answers Dopey, 'there are no dwarf nuns in Europe .'

This time, all of the other dwarfs burst into laughter. Once again Dopey turns around and silences them with an angry glare.

Dopey turns back and says, 'Your extreme holiness! Are there ANY dwarf nuns anywhere in the world?'

After consulting with his advisors, the Pope responds, 'I'm sorry my son, there are no dwarf nuns anywhere in the world.'

The other dwarfs collapse in a heap, rolling, laughing and pounding the floor - tears rolling down their cheeks as they begin chanting: 'Dopey shagged a penguin!' 'Dopey shagged a penguin!'"

Baa, Baa Black Sheep blacklisted

Oddly Enough News Article Reuters.com: "Baa, Baa Black Sheep blacklisted"
Wed Jun 14, 2006 06:50 AM ET

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - An Indian state has removed nursery rhymes such as 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' and 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' from its primary school syllabus because they are 'too Western,' newspapers said Wednesday.
The government in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, run by the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, dropped the rhymes, immensely popular with millions of Indian children, from its Class I syllabus taught to five-year-olds.
'We want our children to have value education in local color,' the Hindustan Times quoted Narottam Mishra, the state's school education minister as saying.
Children will now learn English-language rhymes written by Indian poets, papers said.

Look everyone!!!! There's another stupid fuck on the planet earth. How about this.. we take all the spammers wasting our time (because we have to delete it.. duh) and shoot them off into space?! That would be like cool and stuff.

This time the asshat of the day goes out to: (drum roll) Pharmamx dot com!! Wow.. what a bunch of fucking jerks. Did I ASK for you to spam me (on a BLOG no less) about your crap 'low prices?' DID I fucking request information from your company? DID I create this blog so that ONE person (me) can read your SPAM?

HELL NO.

Die, Spammer. Really. no one loves you. You don't amount to anything. You're parents hate you and want to tell you that you where nothing but a mistake the milk man made with your web footed whore of a mother.

Please, go jump off a cliff and make everyone happy. Hell, that's why God put cliffs on the earth in the first place, so dumb fucks like yourself could have a place to kill themselves easily.

So do me, God, and the rest of the earth a favor and take care of your unwanted, wasted live.
end it.

(Naaaa.. I love spammers.)

Amber Alerts and the stupid humans that cause them.

We saw an Amber Alert last night here in my home state. If any of you saw it, it has ended in the death of a 4 year old, attempted murder of a 2 year old and suicide attempt of their father.
=================================================================

My heart goes out to the the mother. I'm Sorry for the lose of your child. I'm sorry that your 'mate' did this to you and your family. No one could ever need to go though such a thing.
and I can feel your pain and suffering.

As for the 'father' errr.. Sperm donor.
You have GOT to be the dumbest asshole I've ever had the displeasure to even hear about.
What the fuck where you thinking?? Jesus, I'm surprised as hell that God hasn't smite your
ass already for being a dumb fuck. I know that the Bible says that God loves all his children..
but damn you should have been an abortion.

What in the world gives you the right, to do what you did? Seriously? What.. where you sitting
at home, pissed off that your wife left you (for good reason , I see.. at least SHE's smart)
and thought to yourself.. Self? I think I'm going to kidnap my two kids and kill them.
and then so I don't need to go to jail..I'll kill myself afterwards!!! Yeah!!! that'll be a great
idea!!! I'm so smart.. I make things go.. Then you ran to the door, put your helmet on
and rode your bike with training wheels to her parents house?

and what excuses are you going to try to come up with? Are you going to be a MAN
and say.. "Yeah, I did it. I'm sorry. Give me my punishment." or are you going to
be a little asshat and say that you weren't in your right mind because your wife
left you?

Guess what jackass.. THAT IS NO EXCUSE. YOU KILLED YOUR OWN CHILD!
YOU made the choice and I pray to every higher power in the universe that in jail
your ass will be OWNED by Bubba AND his bitches.

AND I pray that you will be reminded every day of your life just what you did.
Welcome to Hell.

Runefox writes "ZDNet UK has a story about a new SPAM defense mechanism called BlackFrog, a response to the demise of Blue Security's BlueFrog. According to the article, the new service is based on a P2P network of clients, called the 'Frognet', which allows the opt-out service to continue functioning even after a server has gone down, making a DDoS attack like that which crippled BlueFrog ineffective against the new service."

Can you really count the seconds between lightning and thunder to figure how far away a storm is?

Q: Can you really count the seconds between lightning and thunder to figure how far away a storm is?

A: Chances are you're not going to have a calculator handy during a storm. However you can approximate the storm's distance in miles by counting the seconds between the lightning and thunder and dividing by five. It takes about five seconds for the sonic boom to travel one mile, so if you see the sky illuminated by a streak of lightning and count 10 seconds until you hear the low rumble of the thunder, the storm is about two miles away.

Sci Fi Wire -- The News Service of the Sci Fi Channel: "

SCI FI Announces Caprica

SCI FI Channel announced the development of Caprica, a spinoff prequel of its hit Battlestar Galactica, in presentations to advertisers in New York on April 26. Caprica would come from Galactica executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, writer Remi Aubuchon (24) and NBC Universal Television Studio.

Caprica would take place more than half a century before the events that play out in Battlestar Galactica. The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high-technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better.

But a startling breakthrough in robotics is about to occur, one that will bring to life the age-old dream of marrying artificial intelligence with a mechanical body to create the first living robot: a Cylon. Following the lives of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas (the family of William Adama, who will one day become the commander of the Battlestar Galactica), Caprica will weave together corporate intrigue, techno-action and sexual politics into television's first science fiction family saga, the channel announced. from the where-and-through-whom dept.
wrong_fuel writes 'A few of you know that Internet2 and NLR (National Lambda Rail) have been in talks for some time regarding a merger of the two networks. Those talks have fallen apart and Internet2's contracts with Qwest communications had already been allowed to lapse. Internet2 has now reached an agreement with an unnamed carrier for its next generation backbone. The new network will likely be named later this year (the old one was referred to as 'Abilene') and current member Universities will be migrated off of Abilene by September 2007.' "

my theory? the 'unnamed carrier' is Google. What better way to rip control of the net from Microsoft then by 'owning' the internet?

New Scientist Breaking News - Invention: Apple's all-seeing screen

New Scientist Breaking News - Invention: Apple's all-seeing screen: "Apple's all-seeing screen
We could soon see a new kind of display screen from computer maker Apple – one that simultaneously takes pictures while showing images.
The clever idea is to insert thousands of microscopic image sensors in-between the liquid crystal display cells in the screen. Each sensor captures its own small image, but software stitches these together to create a single, larger picture.
A large LCD screen filled with image sensors would be ideal for videoconferencing, Apple suggests, as participants would always appear to look straight into the 'camera'. The technique could also add a camera function to a cellphone or PDA without wasting space, and light from the screen should help illuminate a subject.
The more sensors there are, the wider and clearer the image. Sketches accompanying the company's patent show as many sensors as liquid crystal cells in a screen. If some of the sensors have different focal lengths, switching between them would make the screen behave like a zoom lens.
Read the full patent, here."

RIAA Bans Telling Friends About Songs

LOS ANGELES—The Recording Industry Association of America announced Tuesday that it will be taking legal action against anyone discovered telling friends, acquaintances, or associates about new songs, artists, or albums. "We are merely exercising our right to defend our intellectual properties from unauthorized peer-to-peer notification of the existence of copyrighted material," a press release signed by RIAA anti-piracy director Brad Buckles read. "We will aggressively prosecute those individuals who attempt to pirate our property by generating 'buzz' about any proprietary music, movies, or software, or enjoy same in the company of anyone other than themselves." RIAA attorneys said they were also looking into the legality of word-of-mouth "favorites-sharing" sites, such as coffee shops, universities, and living rooms.

Congress readies broad new digital copyright bill | CNET News.com

For the last few years, a coalition of technology companies, academics and computer programmers has been trying to persuade Congress to scale back the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Now Congress is preparing to do precisely the opposite. A proposed copyright law seen by CNET News.com would expand the DMCA's restrictions on software that can bypass copy protections and grant federal police more wiretapping and enforcement powers.

The draft legislation, created by the Bush administration and backed by Rep. Lamar Smith, already enjoys the support of large copyright holders such as the Recording Industry Association of America. Smith is the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee that oversees intellectual-property law.
=================================================
Come on people, Why do we let morons make the laws? People that have NO idea how the industry works, and above that.. groups of companys like the RIAA? Really, I don't trust the RIAA to pass a law about how to poop, let alone 'fixing' any problems with the DMCA, which I believe is the problem from the beginning.

thank about it: "[The updates to the DMCA would] create a new federal crime of just trying to commit copyright infringement. Such willful attempts at piracy, even if they fail, could be punished by up to 10 years in prison. "

10 years. 10 YEARS for nothing more then copying a CD, video game, movie, tv show, book, art work. and we ALL know how the RIAA likes to sue people (that don't even have computers) and adding more 'power' to the DMCA will give them even more legal ground to stand on. It's nothing more then a ploy to not only allow the RIAA to sue people faster and with more legal ground, but also to allow the Bush Administration to SPY on you and me.

Isn't America free? Arn't we free to think, feel, do what we wish with in reason? Why do I need 'big brother' to spy on me because of a couple of bad apples in the mix?

Here's the hand basket for the world's trip to hell.

Techdirt: Did Music Labels Lie To The Justice Department On Digital Downloads?

Techdirt: Did Music Labels Lie To The Justice Department On Digital Downloads?:
"Did Music Labels Lie To The Justice Department On Digital Downloads?

TechDirt gives a nice small read about some information that has come to light about how EMI and Universal might have lied to the DOJ.. Hmm.. interesting..
===========================================================
Snippit:
This story involves quite a bit of ancient (in internet terms) history how ever there is a second (still ongoing) case, with new evidence has been filed that suggests both EMI and Universal may have lied to the DOJ when both were being investigated concerning MusicNet and PressPlay. The evidence suggests that the two services were guaranteed to get the best prices for music and used consultants to share information that shouldn't have been shared (normally called collusion). These facts were apparently hidden from investigators. It's not clear what impact this would have either way -- but the judge in the case has ordered both labels to turn over documents concerning this hidden info, including stuff that would normally be protected by attorney-client privilege, under the belief that the labels used their attorneys for illegal purposes to hide info. Yes, everyone must be shocked to hear yet another story of record labels breaking the law -- just as our elected officials rush to give those labels more protection for their failing business models.

Sounds like the RIAA is still playing the game of do what I say not as I do.

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A South African judge on Wednesday barred a dissatisfied customer from entering any Absa bank branch after his pet snakes bit one person when he released them inside the headquarters of the country's largest bank. Absa had requested the restraining order against Jan Abel Manamela, who released five poisonous Puff adder snakes at the bank's Johannesburg headquarters in 2004, the South African Press Association (SAPA) said. Manamela was sentenced to three years in prison following the incident but was released on parole in February. Manamela had accused Absa of defrauding him after it sold his pickup truck following what it said was his failure to pay off a loan.
He later threatened to blow up the bank, demanded payment of 10 million rand ($1.6 million) and eventually released what he described as his 'pet' snakes in the bank, SAPA said.

Judge Eben Jordaan's order forbade Manamela from contacting, threatening or molesting Absa employees, customers and attorneys and bars him from entering any bank office or branch, SAPA said.

From the PogoTips Department...

"This is real cool tip for people who use notepad to write down any info on a day to day basis...
In Notepad

* Create a blank text file with .LOG as the first line of the file, followed by a carriage return. [ Enter ]
* Save and close the file.
* Double-click the file to open it and notice that Notepad appends the current date and time to the end of the file and places the
cursor on the next line.
* Type your notes and then save and close the file.

Each time you open the file, Notepad repeats the process, appending the time and date to the end of the file and placing the cursor below it

It simply serves as a virtual diary ! "

Teens Arrested After Posting Incriminating Video To MySpace

Techdirt: Teens Arrested After Posting Incriminating Video To MySpace:
Once again, MySpace proves to be a friend of law and order. Two teenagers have been arrested after posting a video of themselves firebombing an abandoned airplane hanger to the site. It seems that while many fear the site could be a haven for criminals and predators, it's proving to be a place where scofflaws publicly expose their misdeeds. In fact, this could be the fulfillment of Jay Walker's vision for an online neighborhood watch. It's not clear if anyone thinks their pages are actually private. Surely they realize how easy it is to sign up and look at other people's profiles. Then again, if you're looking for yet another data point to explain why MySpace has lapped the field in the social networking space, it may have something to do with the perception that it is a private clubhouse that outsiders wouldn't get, or don't know about. Again, we can't help but wonder what happens when the MySpace generation runs for office. "

How STUPID can people get??! Not only that thinking about fire bombing anything is a good idea.. but then FILM it.. ok, that's stupid enough.. but then think they where 'cool' enough to POST TO THE INTERNET?! ON MYSPACE?! WTF, mate!!

EU warns Microsoft over Vista features
Says it will investigate if it suspects antitrust violations

News Story by Peter Meller
MARCH 29, 2006
(IDG NEWS SERVICE) - BRUSSELS

The European Commission has laid out specific antitrust concerns it has about Vista, Microsoft Corp.'s new, long-awaited operating system, commission spokesman Jonathan Todd said today.
"We are concerned about the possibility that Vista will include software elements which are available separately, either sold by Microsoft or by other software companies," Todd said.

Ok I, for one at least, am sick and tried of this crap from the EU. What.. they want to make sure that
there's a choice? Funk that. Ok let's think about this for a moment.

I know one way that MS could COMPLETELY send the world to hell in a hand basket.
Yep, you heard me. Send the world back into the dark ages that would take YEARS to get
back out of. People scrambling for techonology and information..

and all M$ would need to do is close it's doors and revoke ALL EULA's and contracts.
yep, a world with out M$. and you think that would be a good thing? HA!!
98% of all home computers run a version of Windows. Most business use Windows
as the back bone for their workers. Internet hosts run clusters of windows boxs to
host Windows based hosting packages.. over night.. it's gone.

think about it.. 1/2 the internet gone.. most Business would no longer be able to function
banks would freeze, people would go nuts.

But we could all switch to Linux.. BULL SHIT. if Linux was easy enough for an AOLer to be able
to get on the net, we all ALREADY would have switched. But guess what? it's not.

So what are we left with? The EU and other companys bulling M$ into not being able to
make widnows the best it can be. by forcing them to remove or rethink stratagys that have
been in place for months to years before being released to the public.

Hell M$ should just say 'fine' we are no longer dealing with the island of Europe.
and drop the contacts, and make it illeagle to use their software anywher on the island.
let's see how fast the people start to yell and scream. and how FAST the goverment would
change their minds.

Cops: Teen Threatened School, Not Bush

Wired News Cops: Teen Threatened School, Not Bush:

"FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) -- A 13-year-old boy who authorities originally said threatened President Bush actually made the threat against a school, not the president, police said.
Police Capt. Linny Cloyd said Tuesday that the teen was being investigated for making threats against Bush, the city of Florence and a school in e-mails sent to the mayor. Bush is scheduled to travel to nearby Cincinnati next week. On Wednesday, Cloyd told the Cincinnati Enquirer the student did not make a direct threat against Bush. Instead, the teen is charged with terroristic threatening for the alleged threat against the school, Cloyd said Wednesday. The teen remains in custody of his mother in Florence.
The investigation began after Mayor Diane Whalen received an anonymous e-mail containing the alleged threats, Cloyd said. A second e-mail was also sent to Whalen, he said. Cloyd went to the teen's home Monday night with agents from the FBI and Secret Service. He said the boy's parents consented to the search, during which a computer was seized. Investigators did not find anything to make them think he was planning to carry out the threats, he said. 'He is extremely well-versed in the history of President Bush,' Cloyd told the Enquirer. 'In talking with him, you can tell this is a hot-button topic with him.'
Police said the first e-mail was also sent to the White House, Vice President Dick Cheney and the Pentagon. Bush is scheduled to be across the Ohio River on Monday to throw out the first pitch on opening day for the Cincinnati Reds. "

I know you can't say something like 'I'm going to kill him' but still.. 13?! This is freaking nuts people.
and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT FOR LETTING THE COUNTRY GET TO THIS POINT.
I mean really.. Investigating a 13 year old for 'terroist acts' first for the dork that runs this country, but not to to the school. Hmm.. Guys? don't you have anything better to do? Like doing better back ground checks on the people working for 'homeland security'?

*sigh* "terroristic threatening".. We used to call it 'blowing off steam', and we where innocent until proven guilty.. now we are guilty unless we have a damn good lawyer, and even if we are guilty.. we can get off with a good lawyer. What's wrong with this picture people?

Put eight monkeys in a room...

The Code Project - Free Source Code and Tutorials: "(This is based on an actual experiment conducted in U.K.)

Put eight monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling.

Each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable.

Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed, set upon him and beat him up. Soon, none of the eight monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder.

One of the original monkeys is then removed, and a new monkey is put in the room. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wonders why none of the other monkeys are doing the obvious. But undaunted, he immediately begins to climb the ladder.

All the other monkeys fall upon him and beat him silly. He has no idea why. However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder.

A second original monkey is removed and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the other monkeys hammer the crap out of him. This includes the previous new monkey, who, grateful that he's not on the receiving end this time, participates in the beating because all the other monkeys are doing it. However, he has no idea why he's attacking the new monkey.

One by one, all the original monkeys are replaced. Eight new monkeys are now in the room. None of them have ever been sprayed by ice water. None of them attempt to climb the ladder. All of them will enthusiastically beat up any new monkey who tries, without having any idea why.

This is how any company's policies get established. "

[Joke] - That's about right...

TorrentSpy Says MPAA Can't Reinterpret The Supreme Court On File Sharing

When the Supreme Court ruled in the Grokster case, they laid down a very specific case for when a service provider might be liable for the actions of its users. That was only if the service provider took 'affirmative steps' to induce copyright violations. This seemed odd and likely to cause trouble pretty quickly. It basically suggested that a new company that came along and did exactly what Grokster had done, but avoided proactively encouraging people to download unauthorized material, would be perfectly fine. However, the entertainment industry immediately tried to expand what the decision meant and eventually just pretended the Supreme Court said that file sharing and things like torrent tracking sites were illegal -- when it actually said nothing of the sort. The MPAA recently went after a bunch of BitTorrent search engines -- which seemed to stretch the Supreme Court ruling again. After all, these are just search engines, and there are tons of legitimate uses for them. At least one is now fighting back. TorrentSpy has filed a motion to dismiss the case, noting that they don't promote any kind of infringement and they don't host or link directly to any files copyrighted by the MPAA. In other words, they're making a case that all they are is a search engine for torrents, and if the industry is worried about people putting up torrents that infringe on copyrights, it should go after those actually responsible, rather than the search engines. Services like TorrentSpy were exactly what it looked like the Supreme Court was trying to carve out as being legitimate -- so it's good to see them standing up for themselves, rather than just giving in to another entertainmen"

Drunkard kills himself over meatless dinner - Yahoo! News

AHMEDABAD, India (Reuters)

A jobless alcoholic burned himself to death after his wife refused to serve him meat for dinner, Indian police said Sunday.

Sixty-year-old Mithailal Ram Sanjivan doused his body with an inflammable liquid and set himself ablaze outside his one-room house in Ahmedabad, the main city of western Gujarat state. Police said the victim, who had been without a job for years, and his wife, Geeta Sanjivan, 54, had a scuffle over the dinner menu.

The wife refused to cook meat as they could not afford it. Irritated by this, Sanjivan locked her in the house before setting himself on fire outside. "

That sounds like the old Joke of a guy that comes home, catchs his wife in bed with another man, grabs a gun and puts it to his mouth. The wife screams, 'NO! please don't!' to where the man replies "shut up, you female dog, after me your next."

Where I feel sorry for the wife, God I hope they didn't breed.

An open letter to my dear wife..

TO MY DEAR WIFE:
During the past year I have tried to make love to you 365 times. I have succeeded 36 times, which is an average of once every ten days. The following is a list of why I did not succeed more often:

54 times the sheets were clean
17 times it was too late
49 times you were too tired
20 times it was too hot
15 times you pretended to be asleep
22 times you had a headache
17 times you were afraid of waking the baby
16 times you said you were too sore
12 times it was the wrong time of the month
19 times you had to get up early
09 times you said weren't in the mood
07 times you were sunburned
06 times you were watching the late show
05 times you didn't want to mess up your new hairdo
03 times you said the neighbors would hear us
09 times you said your mother would hear us

Of the 36 times I did succeed, the activity was not satisfactory because:
06 times you just laid there
08 times you reminded me there's a crack in the ceiling
04 times you told me to hurry up and get it over with
07 times I had to wake you and tell you I finished
01 time I was afraid I had hurt you because I felt you move

Her reply?
TO MY DEAR HUSBAND:

I think you have things a little confused. Here are the reasons you didn't get more than you did:

05 times you came home drunk and tried to screw the cat
36 times you did not come home at all
21 times you didn't cum
33 times you came too soon
19 times you went soft before you got in
38 times you worked too late
10 times you got cramps in your toes
29 times you had to get up early to play golf
02 times you were in a fight and someone kicked you in the balls
04 times you got it stuck in your zipper
03 times you had a cold and your nose was running
02 times you had a splinter in your finger
20 times you lost the notion after thinking about it all day
06 times you came in your pajamas while reading a dirty book
98 times you were too busy watching football, baseball, etc.on TV

Of the times we did get together:
The reason I laid still was because you missed and were screwing the sheets.

I wasn't talking about the crack in the ceiling, what I said was"Would you prefer me on my back or kneeling?"

The time you felt me move was because you farted and I was trying to breathe.

Humans.. Got to love 'them.

Yahoo answers has always been a great source of fun for me... and this as another perfect example. One nice lady had a simple question: "Can you be a Christian and a witch?"

to which I replied:
*sigh* before you are ripped a new one by other 'Christians'. (I'm sorry Too late.. =( )Yes you can be both Christan, and Wiccan. In reality Christians and Wiccans worship the same way. The people just use different terms for it. Spell casting = Praying. The God and the Goddess are different halves of one being which is 'God' they have a Bible.. Wiccans have a book of shadows. Its all SS/DD (that's Same S%!T, Different Day)and hell yes, Christians worship other 'figures' besides God. Jesus and Mary are one. Look at all the saints.. etc. but man I wish people would get over there 'My God can beat up your God mentality'

When I started to reply I was like 4th in line.. that post was placed like 20th.

and I thought I was good to go... How wrong I was..

I received a private Email from a person saying:
"Christians do things other than God, Jesus is God, aka the trinity, Mary is never worshiped, she is just the virgin who gave birth to god, praying isn't a spell, because its only "talking" to God, trying to receive answers THROUGH HIS miracles not ours. I don't want this to sound offensive, I was just stating the facts, next time DO SOME ACTUAL research, because you were incorrect.

To which I replied:
No Jesus is NOT God. Jesus is the SON of God. There's a difference. Some sects do ask Mary for favors.. This is worship. Praying is spell casting . Just under a different name.. Do you not request God to perform some action in your name? That's a Spell. Did you know that Christmas was a pagan holiday? and Originally had NOTHING do to with the birth of Jesus? Sounds like you are a stout christian. And I give you a thumbs up for having a believe. But I suggest that YOU do some research outside your specific Sect and try to see the light in those ideas and thoughts also.

Figuring I would get a reply I just sit back and wait. SURE enough:
I have. And technically Jesus is God in a matter of speaking, it takes too much to explain and I'm sure you don't care about my opinion. Another, my mom is a religious scholar and minister, I have every book on every religion and I sat down, and read and read and read, and Christianity is the only thing that made sense to me. Here's a website about the trinity God being the same as Jesus http://johnmyers.com/bible23.html please visit.

So now I have my reply:
As a matter of speaking.. isn't that all we are arguing about in the first place? It's all a matter of
THOUGHTS and THEROYS, nothing more. As for your opinion, of course I care. That's how
people grow and learn. You ask questions. You try to understand where another person
is coming from. You walk a mile in their shoes. in the end will I change my mind? perhaps.
perhaps not. Depends on what rings true to me.

However, it's hard to debate theory with someone when they start off with an obvious lie. There's no way this side (or that side) of hell that you have read "every book on every religion" and then argue that praying isn't spell casting. If you had you would also know how many Christan holidays are based on pagan rituals. You would understand that Wicca has been around A LOT longer then Christianity has. You would see the blood and death of Christianity because of fear, greed, and being holier then thou. To me, it sounds like you've done too much reading and not enough thinking. The answers you seek are inside you, not in a book.

You state that Christianity is the only thing that makes sense to you. That's where we differ.
to me Christianity makes no sense because of all the hypocritical things that have happened
over the course of the religion coming into power over the people. How many millions have
died by the hand of God only because he/she was mad over something? How many cultures have have whipped off the face of the earth in 'Gods' name? How many millions have been killed by humans in the name of God.. Yet.. the 10 commandments. The HIGHEST ranking law in Christian Dogma stats quite clearly.. 'Thou shalt not Kill' Where does it say "but it's OK in my name?"

There's a group of Christians in my State that are picking and protesting at military personal funerals. protesting at the place of rest for the men and woman that have given there lives
for our country.. and they are protesting because they 'somehow' think that God is killing
them off because America is lenient towards homosexuals? Where's the logic in that?!
and WHERE in the bible does it say anything about homosexual's being 'evil'? as a matter of fact there's quite a few stories in the bible about same sex relationships and sex. (Noah is one)

and above all else, where as most Christians don't go door to door saying 'Believe this or God will smite you', there's a nice large band of them that like to push there believes on anyone that doesn't believe the same way they do. Again, so my thoughts and ideas don't matter because they go against what you believe?

I did go to the website, and must ask a major question here. If God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one in the same.. then you must say that man killed God, now how is that possible? Also didn't Jesus preach time and time again "do not worship me, worship my Father?" and didn't Moses speak with God more then once.. Why didn't God just take a human form? wouldn't that have been easier?

and if you REALLY want to push the whole '3 aspects' of God, then aren't you agreeing with me about the God and Goddess being different aspects of one God?

YOU replied to the woman that asked the original Question:
"Okay, Wicca is not evil witchcraft, they practice pratical spells I guess you would say they aren't evil, but to me, because I am a christian witchcraft period is evil. Here is a specific verse:"There shall not be found among you anyone who make his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead for all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord." (Deuteronomy 18:10) "

Huh? Wicca is not evil, but because you are Christan Wicca is evil? Only because you are Christan? So, what you are saying is.. you're HEART (one aspect of God) is saying that
Wicca is fine. no problems. Yet your Mind (another Aspect of God) is saying that it's evil.
but.. your mind GOT those ideas from another MAN. Not God. So how can you be so sure that Wicca is evil? OOOHHH yeah.. you've got a verse to back it up.

OK, that verse is saying a couple of things here. Do you even believe that 'Spells' are real?
well I guess they where because it's in the BIBLE!! right there.. blank and white. Deuteronomy 18:10 tells you that if you are caught practicing it.. then you are an abomination to the lord.. so that proves then that A) Spell craft is real. If it wasn't real.. then why the rule? and B) JESUS CHRIST IS AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD.

*SHOCK* How can I say that? Who raised people from the dead? Who transmuted water into wine? WHO knew the outcome of a number of events before they happened? WHO talked to spirits? WHO rose from the dead?!

and since you believe that Jesus was God.. then God is an Abomination onto himself, and above all else a hypocrite.

and you say "Christianity is the only thing that made sense to me"?

Techdirt: Band Banned From Charts For Being Too Well Liked

Techdirt: Band Banned From Charts For Being Too Well Liked:

"Band Banned From Charts For Being Too Well Liked
from the smash-hit dept

The popularity of downloading music is affecting an industry institution: the hit chart. In the past, it was easy enough to to tabulate sales, but file-trading, ringtone sales, and other means by which people listen to music render these lists less informative. Recently, a UK band was disqualified from the charts when it was discovered that overzealous fans were buying multiple copies of the same song. In one case a fan bought a single song 100 times. It's true that these repeat sales distort the breadth of the band's popularity, but they do indicate the intensity of the band's fans (it should be noted that the band is now imploring the fans to just purchase two copies of the album when it comes out, sort of a funny concept in the age of downloads). At a time when the industry must find new ways to monetize a band's popularity, intensity is something worthwhile to measure. Of course, if the chart keepers don't adapt they may soon be entirely meaningless. "

ABUJA (Reuters) - The Nigerian government, anxious to avoid a repeat of riots that marked a solar eclipse in 2001, warned citizens they may suffer 'psychological discomfort' during a new eclipse this month but urged them not to panic.

Information Minister Frank Nweke said an eclipse five years ago caused riots in northern Borno state because people did not know why it happened.
'Some people even felt some evil people in their communities were responsible for the eclipse,' he said in a statement on Thursday aimed at reassuring Nigerians that the eclipse is expected to darken parts of the country on March 29. 'The eclipse is not expected to have any real damaging effect, only social and psychological discomforts are envisaged,' Nweke said. He did not explain what the discomforts might be. "

Woot I get to rant!!!
Feds suggest 21-day deadline for Google subpoena Tech News on ZDNet

ok.. WHAT THE FUCK?! Why in the HELL would the goverment want to know the surfing habits of million people? that's less then 1% of the populace.. those numbers wouldn't mean jack anyway.
I think Bush just wants to find the best porn sites, and getting the links from a million porn surfers
would make quick work of those hard to find GOOD sites.

the biggest scare here is this:
"In January, the Justice Department asked a judge to force Google to hand over a "random sample of 1 million" Web pages from its index, and copies of a week's worth of search terms, to aid in the Bush administration's defense of an Internet pornography law."

Followed by:
"No individual user of Google, or of any other search engine, need fear that his or her personal identifying information will be disclosed."

Now wait.. you JUST said that you wanted one week worth of surfing habits for 1 million PEOPLE.. yeah.. then you are saying that no personal identifying information will be disclosed? what about the IP addresses you fucktards. We all know those can be traced back to PEOPLE.. that's what the RIAA does in order to sue likee 9 year olds for downloading the last great barbie MP3.

This shit has GOT to stop.. There's no reason to be SPYING on your own people.. We fought long and hard in the old days to have freedom, and I don't need some bitch looking over my shoulder telling
me what can and can't do.. If I wanted that I would move from America to Cuba.

and why even WORRY about the whole porn thing in the first place? If you are looking for satan, you WILL find him. It's a fucking witch hunt on people that haven't even DONE anything.. isn't the American court system set up to be inocent until proven guilty? Now, it's like.. "fuck you.. as soon as you even THINK about stepping out of line, you're ass is mine.' Sounds like my fucking high school gym teacher.

God if you really are out there.. answer my prayers and force these ass hats to grow up?
Please? With sugar on top? perhaps a cherry? oh yeah.. and sorry for trying to sell
my soul for that bike back in 3th grade.. we good, right?

Jensen Harris: An Office User Interface Blog : Picture This: A New Look For Office

Jensen, has a write up on the new version of Office (2007 or version 12, which ever way you want to call it) with some screen shots.

"There are so many changes from the Beta 1 visuals that it would be hard to make a complete list, but a couple of the things you might notice right off the bat: the Quick Access Toolbar in the title bar, group titles on the bottom of groups, and the Office Button (more on that below.)"

If you've not need the new version of Office yet, I suggest that you look at the site. You are going to be in for a BIG change from 2003.

Slashdot Symantec Users, Start Your Keyloggers: "Symantec Users, Start Your Keyloggers

from the unfurling-the-welcome-mat dept.
An anonymous reader writes 'Script kiddies have been taking advantage of intrusion prevention features of Symantec's Norton Firewall and Norton Internet Security Suites to knock users offline in IRC channels, according to an amusing post at Washingtonpost.com. From the article: 'Turns out that if someone types 'startkeylogger' or 'stopkeylogger' in an IRC channel, anyone on the channel using the affected Norton products will be immediately kicked off without warning. These are commands typically issued by the Spybot worm, which spreads over IRC and peer-to-peer file-swapping networks, installing a program that records and transmits everything the victim types (known as a keylogger).' Makes you wonder what other magic keywords produce unexpected results with Symantec's software.' "

LOL!!!!!
another reason NOT to use Norton.

PogoWolf.com Updates.

Yeah, yeah.. so I made updates. the Poem section has been fixed.. yet again.
now you can READ the darn things. I'm also working on an update so you can get
to the poems with out needing to go though the search functions.. those should be in place tonight.

Past that, I've also updated the Gallery with a few more photos. Though don't expect many
more to be placed there. I'm working on a new system for the whole site.
